Should we expect academics and editors to write and publish short reflection pieces whilst experiencing trauma, such as on Black Lives Matter protests, or during the Covid-19 pandemic? This writing places a burden on people of colour and disabled bodies who are often the first to experience such trauma. While the answer is ‘yes, these reflections are an important part of our STS culture’, the question for Backchannels is how to support this.
